Hoyeon Jung Wore A Suede Cut-Out Mini Dress To The 2022 Met Gala

A cut-out mini dress doesn’t exactly scream “gilded glamour,” but Squid Game actress Hoyeon Jung still managed to make her 2022 Met Gala ensemble feel theme-adjacent by incorporating the luxe fabrics and glittering jewels reminiscent of the era. In a slate suede strapless dress with leather-embellished pockets, knee-high leather boots and dangling silver earrings, the Louis Vuitton global ambassador—who’s recently become a fashion “it” girl in the United States—added to the ongoing case for more boob-centric designs. (She joins other recent proponents like Zoë Kravitz and Kourtney Kardashian.)

The Seoul-born actress has been a model since she was 19, having walked for such coveted brands as Fendi, Bottega Veneta, Miu Miu, Chanel, and Jacquemus, as well as, of course, Louis Vuitton. She’s since become a sought-after actress following the explosive success of the Netflix K-drama Squid Game, in which she played Kang Sae-byeok, a North Korean defector with shifty eyes, pickpocketing skills, and an iconic messy bob.

In a 2021 interview with the Magazine, Jung revealed that she hopes to continue juggling the worlds of acting and fashion, if her schedule allows it: “I hope I can do both but, physically, I think if I got a role or a new series came in, then I’d have to focus on the shooting. At that moment, I don’t think I can do modeling at the same time as acting, but, if I don’t have a time [where I need to be shooting], then I could do modeling. I could manage. I’m a very flexible person!”
